We collect only what we need to run beingvela: anonymous usage analytics (which pages are read, referral source, general country), and, if you sign up, the email address you give us for the newsletter. If you contact us, we keep the message and your reply address until the conversation is resolved.

We do not ask for, buy, or infer sensitive personal data. We do not build advertising profiles.

Analytics help us understand which articles genuinely help readers so we can write more of them. Email addresses are used only to send the newsletter you signed up for. We never sell, rent, or trade your data.

We use a small number of first-party cookies for essential site functionality (e.g. remembering that you dismissed a banner). We use a privacy-respecting analytics tool that aggregates page views without setting cross-site cookies or tracking you across the web.

You can block cookies in your browser settings; the site will still work.

A few trusted services help us run the site: our hosting provider, our email newsletter platform, and our analytics vendor. Each processes only the minimum data required to do its job, and each is contractually bound to keep it confidential.

We use Google AdSense to help support the site. Google and its advertising partners may use cookies or similar technologies to serve and measure advertisements. Where required by law, we request your consent before enabling personalized advertising. You may see non-personalized ads when personalized advertising is not consented to.

Some product links are affiliate links (Amazon Associates and similar programs). When you click them, the destination site may set its own cookies to attribute the sale. We only see aggregate commission reports, never your order details, name, address, or payment information.

beingvela is written for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, email us and we will delete it.

You can request a copy of the personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it at any time. Email hello@beingvela.com and we will respond within 30 days. Depending on where you live, you may also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

We may update this policy as the site evolves. Meaningful changes will be noted at the top of the page and, when appropriate, sent to newsletter subscribers.
